Steps for pool fence inspections & certification (form 23)

Pool Fence Inspections

Let us walk you through the process of the required Melbourne pool fence safety inspections.

Register your Pool or Spa

Under new legislation introduced in December 2019, pool and spa owners in Victoria must register their pools or spas with local authorities. Fines of up to $1652.20 may apply for failure to complete steps 1 and 3 by the regulatory deadlines. If you need help navigating your local council’s website to see how to register, please reach out. We are here to help.

Once you register, the council will send a confirmation letter to explain the applicable Australian Standard for your pool barrier inspection in Melbourne based on the pool or spa’s original construction date.

Book your Inspection With Us

Give us a call, or book on-line to get your first inspection done.  If there are any non-compliant items to attend to, you will have 60 days have them fixed.

When you are ready for your final inspection, just let us know.

Lodge Your Certificate of Compliance

We will always issue your Certificate of Barrier Compliance (form23) within 24 hours of your final inspection.  You will then lodge your certificate with your local council.  We will then send you a reminder in four years time which is when your pool or spa will need to be re-certified.

It’s Not Just About the Certificate

Have piece of mind that you have done everything that you can to prevent any drownings in your pool or spa.

According to the 2021 – 22 Life Saving Victoria Drowning report, almost one-fifth of fatal drowning incidents in 2021 and ‘22 occurred in waterways around the home, including bathtubs and home pools, 24 % higher than the 10-year average of eight.

With 35 years of experience in the industry and active memberships in multiple industry organisations such as the VBA, MBAV and SPASA keeping us on the cutting edge, preventing pool accidents is more than just a business. It’s a calling.
